We welcome items of any construction (knit, crochet, woven, etc.) that incorporate an element of 3. 3 represents the individual creator of the item, the recipient, and the Divine Creator of all women & children. 3 also symbolizes the Abrahamic faith traditions (Jewish, Christian, Muslim), representing our conviction that crafting peace among Abraham’s descendents will create the possibility of peace for all people & all of Creation. How you incorporate 3 in your item is up to you: three colors, patterns based on 3 (k3, p3; cast on # stitches divisible by 3), fringe with three pieces of yarn, triangular shape, etc. Peace Pals are automatically a 3: head, torso, legs.
Our tangible knitting & crocheting is an outward & visible sign of our inner dedication to prayerfully knitting together the Beloved Community. Please pray for the woman, teen, child, or infant who will receive the item you create, & for a future in which all women can raise their children in peace.
These knit dolls are our most frequently & urgently requested item. Orphanages, hospitals, and medical clinics need as many as we can create and they are easy to make. They have been delivered to thousands of children around the world; thousands more are waiting for a Pal of their own. Our patterns were created exclusively for the mission of women4women-knitting4peace & are not to be used for profit-based activity of any kind.

We create caps to provide warmth for children and youth. We currently have an abundance of Preemie Caps (delivered in areas where there are no incubators and our caps literally save lives.) If you want to make a larger size Peace Cap, choose one of the patterns available online (see links to specific sites below.) We also invite you to consider making a Peace Pal (our most needed item) or a Scarf4Peace.

We deliver our shawls to women in need of physical, emotional, or spiritual comfort. Our shawls provide hope & healing as well as warmth. In many impoverished areas women also use our shawls to wrap their infants & children in much-needed protection. We invite you to use your own favorite pattern or try one of our favorites:
Shawl of 3's, Self-fringing Triangular Shawl, Triangular Chevron Shawl, Crocheted Pineapple Pattern Peace Shawl and Peace Shawl for All Reasons

The Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in southwest South Dakota is home to the Oglalla Lakota people. Winter temperatures plummet as low as 50 degrees below zero and many homes have little or no heat. We create blankets to provide warmth in the colors sacred to the Oglalla Lakota tribe: red, yellow, white & black.

You are invited to use your own favorite patterns (as long as you somehow incorporate an element of 3 in your item.) You may also recommend a pattern for our website by sending us an e-mail with the pattern, a photo of the completed item, and a release statement that gives us permission to reproduce the pattern.
